“Former Liverpool striker Ian St. John has called on football’s leaders to look after former professionals who have dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The 78-year-old ex-Scotland international says several of his old team-mates are affected.

“He believes it is as the result of heading heavy footballs in the 1950s and ’60s. Continue reading ‘More Than A Headache (Soccer)’

‘Marijuana and the NBA’

inside-sports-marijuana-and-the-nba-800x800

“Former NBA player Stephen Jackson says he occasionally smoked marijuana before playing in games.

“Jackson’s admission came on the “I Am Rapaport: Stereo Podcast” hosted by actor Michael Rapaport.

“I just gotta be real, you know, it’s been a couple games where I smoked before games and had great games,” Jackson said on the podcast, which was posted Friday. “It’s been some games where I smoked before the game and was on the bench after three minutes sitting on the sideline, ‘Please calm down. This high has to calm down’ — I done shot three shots that went over the backboard, like, I’m going to be honest, like, ‘Ahh, I gotta calm down.'” Continue reading ‘Marijuana and the NBA’

‘Ignorance and Arrogance: A Bad Combination’

This tale is a lesson about what happens when an employer – in this case, the NFL – allows its employees to bring their politics into the workplace:

An NFL quarterback has been spending his time listening to racist/communist ‘Black Lives Matter’ and Black Muslim propaganda, instead of reading his playbook. The result was him disrespectfully sitting {now kneeling} through the U.S. national anthem {see below}; then going out and completing 2 of 6 passes for a grand total of 14 yards. He not only embarrassed his teammates, team and country – he once again had nothing to contribute on the field.

He followed this up by wearing a Communist dictator Fidel Castro T-shirt to a press conference {see below}, and had already worn socks showing police hats on pig’s heads to practice {also below}.

Instead of understanding how lucky he is, this entitled fool – with no experience of life on the rest of this planet – has the gall to trash the only country in which he could have enjoyed such freedom and material success…. Continue reading ‘Ignorance and Arrogance: A Bad Combination’

‘CBC Race-Baiting Yet Again’

Reposted from: https://endracebasedlaw.wordpress.com/2016/10/17/cbc-race-baiting-yet-again-2/

As most Canadian sports fans are aware, the Toronto Blue Jays are playing the Cleveland Indians in the American League championship. And, of course, nothing can happen in Canada any more without a ‘contribution’ from the Aboriginal Industry – this one incited by Canada’s government-funded broadcaster, the CBC

‘Indigenous’ {‘Siberian settler’} activist files human rights complaint against use of Cleveland’s name, logo’

“‘Indigenous’ {race} activist Douglas Cardinal…is demanding the team name and its ‘Chief Wahoo’ logo be banned from use in Ontario.

“In an application with Ontario’s Superior Court of Justice and in complaints filed with Ontario’s human rights tribunal, Cardinal argues the branding is ‘racist’ and ‘discriminatory’, a news release said Friday.  Continue reading ‘CBC Race-Baiting Yet Again’

‘Home of Hockey Now His Home’

“For years, Daniel Alfredsson was a lightning rod for jeers in Toronto, each time he took the ice.

“But on Tuesday, it was where the Swedish-born longtime ‘Ottawa Senators’ captain officially made Canada his home — amid cheers — as he and 102 other newcomers became Canadian citizens at the ‘World Cup of Hockey Fan Village’. Continue reading ‘Home of Hockey Now His Home’

INSIDE SPORTS, More Than A Headache, 800x800

“As much as he’s accomplished, as hard as he’s worked, as much as he’s built his character, in record-breaking time it’s going downhill because of what’s going on… He doesn’t even know. He’s not conscious enough.”

“The mother of NFL player Tre Mason told Palm Beach County, Fla. sheriff’s deputies last month that her 22-year-old son has a “10-year-old’s mindset” as the result of head injuries sustained playing football. Continue reading ‘More Than A Headache’

‘Undermining the Spirit of Sport’

A dark side of international sport raised its ugly head at the Olympics, yet again: INSIDE SPORTS, Undermining the Spirit of Sport, 800x800‘Lebanese Olympics team stops Israelis from boarding shared bus’

“The Rio 2016 Olympic Games began on a sour note for the Israeli delegation, but not one relating to the actual competition. When the delegation was ready to board the bus to the Maracana stadium in the Brazilian city, they were physically prevented from doing so by the Lebanese delegation, already aboard, according to Israeli sailor Udi Gal. ‘NBA Hypocrisy’

“Last week, I met with constituents from China who outlined the Chinese government practice of forcefully harvesting vital organs as part of their oppression of religious minorities. Meanwhile, the NBA will start selling tickets for preseason games in China next week.

“Is the NBA implying that China’s abhorrent violation of basic human rights is acceptable, but North Carolina saying men shouldn’t use the girl[s’] locker room is a bridge too far? What is the NBA’s true priority? The unmistakable hypocrisy is clear to me.”

INSIDE SPORTS, NBA Hypocrisy, 800x800“A North Carolina congressman accuses the NBA of hypocrisy for pulling their 2017 All-Star Game from North Carolina, but pursuing preseason games in China…

‘The Ghost of Baltusrol’

INSIDE SPORTS, The Ghost of Baltusrol, 800x800“On a bright, smoldering afternoon late last week, the golf historians Bob Trebus and Rick Wolffe parked their sport utility vehicle…and walked through a rusted iron fence into a small cemetery behind a white steeple church.

“Do you remember where it is?” Wolffe asked.

“Trebus squinted. He scanned the field for a moment before pointing about a hundred yards out, beyond a stand of pine trees, toward a sunny plot of faded gray tombstones arrayed in a row. Among them, sitting up straight and dignified, one red basalt headstone somehow appeared to be in better condition than the rest.

“In memory,” it read, “of Boltus Roll.” Continue reading ‘The Ghost of Baltusrol’

‘NBA Playing Dirty Politics’

Here’s a tale of a bullying, multi-billion-dollar corporation using its economic power to try and force political change, contrary to the wishes of the people and their elected representatives: INSIDE SPORTS, NBA Playing Dirty Politics, 800x800

“Without any movement by state legislators in North Carolina to change newly-enacted laws targeted at the LGBT ‘community’, the NBA on Thursday decided to pull the 2017 All-Star Game out of Charlotte…

“NBA commissioner Adam Silver had threatened to move All-Star Weekend out of Charlotte unless a…North Carolina law…was changed – and time to do so ran out because of the logistics and planning the NBA needs to run its marquee midseason event, league sources said.

“The issue is centered on North Carolina’s House Bill 2, a law that mandates transgender people use public restrooms corresponding to the sex listed on their birth certificates {The way it’s always been!}. Continue reading ‘NBA Playing Dirty Politics’
