‘It Was Just A Matter Of Time’

“Former ‘UFC’ heavyweight Tim Hague died today after suffering a knockout loss in a boxing match on Friday night in Canada. 

“Hague’s sister confirmed the fighter’s death in a post on her ‘Facebook’ page:

“It is with incredible sadness, sorrow and heartbreak to report that Tim has passed away today,” Jackie Neil wrote. “He was surrounded by family, listening to his favourite songs. We will miss him so greatly.”

‘A Cross-check Too Far’

“National Hockey League linesman Don Henderson has filed a $10.25 million lawsuit against Calgary Flames defenceman Dennis Wideman more than a year after Wideman hit Henderson from behind during a game against the Nashville Predators… The Flames are also listed as a defendant.

“According to his lawsuit, Henderson suffered injuries to his head, neck back, shoulder, and right knee. He also allegedly suffered a concussion, pain, numbness and tingling in his right arm and hand, shock anxiety and depression, headaches and permanent and partial disability…

“Former Liverpool striker Ian St. John has called on football’s leaders to look after former professionals who have dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The 78-year-old ex-Scotland international says several of his old team-mates are affected.
