‘It Was Just A Matter Of Time’

“Former ‘UFC’ heavyweight Tim Hague died today after suffering a knockout loss in a boxing match on Friday night in Canada. 

“Hague’s sister confirmed the fighter’s death in a post on her ‘Facebook’ page:

“It is with incredible sadness, sorrow and heartbreak to report that Tim has passed away today,” Jackie Neil wrote. “He was surrounded by family, listening to his favourite songs. We will miss him so greatly.”

“Hague was 34. 

‘A Cross-check Too Far’

“National Hockey League linesman Don Henderson has filed a $10.25 million lawsuit against Calgary Flames defenceman Dennis Wideman more than a year after Wideman hit Henderson from behind during a game against the Nashville Predators… The Flames are also listed as a defendant.

“According to his lawsuit, Henderson suffered injuries to his head, neck back, shoulder, and right knee. He also allegedly suffered a concussion, pain, numbness and tingling in his right arm and hand, shock anxiety and depression, headaches and permanent and partial disability…

“The government of Alberta is also listed as a plaintiff in the case.

‘More Than A Headache (Soccer)’

“Former Liverpool striker Ian St. John has called on football’s leaders to look after former professionals who have dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The 78-year-old ex-Scotland international says several of his old team-mates are affected.

“He believes it is as the result of heading heavy footballs in the 1950s and ’60s.

‘More Than A Headache’

“As much as he’s accomplished, as hard as he’s worked, as much as he’s built his character, in record-breaking time it’s going downhill because of what’s going on… He doesn’t even know. He’s not conscious enough.”

“The mother of NFL player Tre Mason told Palm Beach County, Fla. sheriff’s deputies last month that her 22-year-old son has a “10-year-old’s mindset” as the result of head injuries sustained playing football.
